IRRESPONSIBLE TRP's

In today's world the idiot boxes are living up to its name religiously & even more. The reason being that even journalism is rapidly moving towards the showbiz. Earlier media used to inform people about it but now it is a part of showbiz. It’s all a TRP game now. And it seems it's ages before when serious journalism was all about the power of  kalam (pen) and simple living, high thinking which is now replaced by the power of glamour world and being westoxicated (meaning aping west in every possible way). Our media is on the footsteps of being a papparazi itself.

After the Uma Khurana’s incident it became all the more important to pull the reins of power from media’s hands. What’s shocking that in spite of knowing the fact that the whole thing was sham, news channels kept repeating the news and even flared it all up. After a month long hullabaloo the code at last was made for the TV channels. What’s interesting was the fact that Doordarshan, the ultimate inimitable brand (a channel known for keeping its originality and dignity intact, no matter what) was very stressed out and was organizing meetings to solve the problems.

On 15-09-07, Doordarshan celebrated for having completed its 48 years. It started in the year 1959 and has never looked back since then. With more than hundred regional channels under its belt & still maintaining its dignity, Doordarshan held a seminar consisting of journalists from all stratas, T.V. channel's chief, news anchors, serial producers; in short all elitist and experienced personalities from TV. Every one from the who's who was present with their views. The likes of Prabhu Chawla, Anuradha Prasad, Chitra, Jaideep Desai, Nafisa Ali, Prem Sagar, Akbar Khan, Mukesh Khanna, Nalini Singh, a long list you see.

The debate was on the social responsibility of a channel which is decreasing day by day. It’s commendable on behalf of Doordarshan for having organized a seminar on such important an issue and at such urgent time, rather than having a bash at a private farmhouse and inviting all the media persons; they preferred to resolve this issue. Hats off to them. Apart from serious discussion going on what’s interesting was the defensive attitude of people as all of them were in one or the other way related to news channels. It’s quite a sight to see all of them resolving the issue on one side and protecting their respective channels from blame on other side.

All of us know today what the private entertainment channels as well as the news channels are serving us. You surf through the channels and you'll either see a 'K' serial or a 'live sansani'. In case of private entertainment channels, it's the usual old drama of a lady protagonist wedding everybody from the star cast of the serial and even after that being tagged as miserable and lonely. Serials such as 'Rehai' by Anuradha Prasad as she mentioned did fetch her many awards but not the TRPs but her serial 'Kumkum' got her the second if not the award.

So basically is it true that TV shows us what we want to see? Or are we so lazy so as to see whatever is coming and not switching the channels thereby providing TRPs to useless shows? Mr. Prabhu Chawla here needs a mention coz he’s the one constantly interrupting other’s conversation by saying that private TV channels should be taken into consideration and we shouldn’t concentrate only on News channels.

Is he right? Do we need to take all things into consideration or take things one by one so as to seal the effectivity of the steps taken to improve the standards of journalism. Cause when we say the word journalism it covers everything which spreads or imparts knowledge about what is happening around us. So in this case I don’t think we need to include private TV channels as a whole because they show stories and stories are far from reality though there are many real story based shows running but they don’t need any code. So, roughly we can say that we can wait for the code for private TV shows to happen. Though we can’t ignore them by saying that they aren’t bad enough to have conduct code but it’s a different story all together here.

We can ban on the sleazy bedroom scenes but we can’t stop the protagonist from marrying 4 times to the same man. Can we??? I hope Mr. Prabhu Chawla got his answer by now and by the way guys he’s just being defensive on AAJ TAK’s side that’s all.

What is interesting was that Mahabharata was caused due one women i.e. Draupadi and here the rootcause is TRP. So I was just wondering whether TRP is M or F.

Now that the code of conducts have been made (I’ve saved the word “implemented” for future use, you see because you never know when the law is made, when it gets implemented & when it is actually put to practice), it seems that things will fall into place gradually. As a rule that’s been made, is to keep a check on News channels which are organizing the so called sting operation (which really sting a person’s reputation) and air shows which are far from reality. And all this happens for just one motive and that’s TRP.

The law - basically the code that’s been made is sort of an individual law, I mean every channel will have to look after the contents of the shows being aired and it’ll be entirely the channel’s responsibility to ensure whether the law is being defied or followed. Though the laws have been made keeping in mind not to limit journalism (as many channel directors were basking for this reason only) but one question that remains unanswered is that who’ll supervise the whole lot of channels, I mean there ought to be panel above all the channels, which can look into matters with an unbiased view point. And that's what remains.

The solution founded is very apt, just that it needs to be packaged correctly. I am sure things will look better in future. We’d be happy that at last the solutions knocked on the problems door and the only thing that needs to be done is to open the door. Now all depends on how the door is opened.

First Day

So it's decided that I'll be pursuing the ICE course from TGC.But one thing dat's killing me was the location of the centre.I's opting for the S Ex.-I branch but parents suggested the the one close by.After sum pursuasion I got the thing & agreed. And here I's starting the 15month course titled----Advanced diploma in Multimedia (Information,Communication,Entertainment = ICE).I's eyeing this course from long period of time(5days is too long time for me) & after searching the google for its links to hilt & also eating up the director's mind I finally gave in.

05-10-07

Today's the first day of ma class, basically it's a demo class & Gosh! stupid as am I thought the person sitting at the front desk,a informer but guess wat? it turned out to be one of the faculty member. He asked me the purpose & confidently(should I add rudely too, actually not rudely but yeah but yeah! with a air around me) I told him about my demo class. I don't know why whenever I go for a new thing I get sooo excited dat I tend to over do things.Anways dat done now the teacher who's to give a demo class to me turned out to be a wannabe thereby adding to ma woes.I mean he's quite ok while explaining things but I's more concerned about his experience & ability.Whe asked he told me dat 2-3 yrs. b4 he's also done the same ICE course & guys le'me tell u I'd a vision of maself teaching others in the same institute after 15 months of training.I sort of asked Q so as to convince maself dat he's not the permanent faculty member here & I's right, actually am right most of the times. Now the teacher\receptionist came to explain things about the real classes dat'll gonne be from tommorrow onwards, their timings & contents etc & believe me dat's wat I's looking for.BINGO! & in a second I's happy & rearing to learn. Now tommorrow am having a special class which'll be held by the director himself (whose brains I emptied the day b4).I hope he'll gonna do same with me,not eat ma brains but fill them with info as ma brain is forever empty.1 more thing I told my teachers dat I've adobe & corel at home to my woes it's cleared away by dat damn computer wallah who came to repair our computer for slow speed.Anyways we'll see dat tommorrow.

FINISHING OFF

FINISHING OFF !

At Lords Men in Blue finished it all off, literally. It was the time to prove their mettle in the finals as well as their upped consitency, but in vain. Not only did they spilled water on some of their's finest performances (read: with bat only) but again posed a question mark on the team performance as whole.

On Saturday every Indian had one thing on mind--England Vs India, & with latter’s fantabulous win on Wednesday not only raised high hopes among us but confirmed us of our victory. The match was crucial from both sides having equaled it as 3 each. But that's where the problem lies with India. The more crucial the match is the more careless they become. After the fantastic win two days before the finals, they must've gained confidence from it (or over confidence). No doubt that it's an excellent team effort put up by India on Wednesday but in our case these excellent things come on rare occasions when there is a do or die situation or say when the players are afraid of coming home empty handed to their passionate fans. We agree that Cricket is a game of luck but average performances have never depended on luck, the fact is that they come from hard practice, consistent one at that. I admit that we always hope our country to win but even close matches are appreciated by us. Had the yesterday's match been a match of the Titans (by name we are Titan but I doubt whether with performance also..........) where every player had to fight for a single run for win but to my disbelief it turned out to be a match between a strong willed team with zeal to do better & a team high on potential, confidence but with weaker decision making technique. I really wonder what Rahul'll have to say about his decision of batting first & then putting up such a remarkable total on the board. To sum up it all what we want to see is better performance from our players irrespective of the result. Its not that we flare up tiniest of mistakes made by them infact we magnify the smallest of achievements of their’s.And in result what we get is just a passable match of a team who gave up right after the first half of the match & made the result very much predictable. The particulars are not worth giving because they’ll serve the purpose of grieving only. The only problem dat ought to be highlighted here is :

RAHUL DRAVID::Captain of Indian team. It seems as if he’s under some pressure to take even the smallest of decision for his team & if he is not then he really needs to do a course in decision making (Oops! Such course is not available in India.Anyways Paul Collingwood is ready to give sum lessons. What say Rahul??) It’s good to think out of the box but it’s stupid not to follow the stereotypes when it is obvious. Even his form needs mending as the wall is showing cracks at some places. Leave other problems at rest because every successful team needs a responsible Captain & without right decisions even a team in good form won’t be able to impart good results. So Mr. Rahul -----leave your nails & start biting on someone’s mind. May be PAUL………….

My second

It seems as if suffering is preparing me to do wat I've always wanted to but never knew. This poem I wrote some days after the Ist one.I simply couldn't title it;I mean it's very real & close to me & my life & as our lives've never depended on titles(just 1 title for our lives & dat's'Moving On')  so y'd this poem?

The time I don't remember & place as usual is my room.& yeah I penned this poem(on paper) which is rarity with me coz I even think with computer. Anyways here it goes...........

The dream she had

was a nightmare

Afraid of it being true

asked me wat’s I up to

I, estranged

point blank

loss of words

or speechlessness;

Was this the time to go bonkers?

Again came the blow

shredding me to bits

restoring myself, I searched to click

my soul & the ideas

There’s no virus

just got the anti virus renewed

Thoroughly cleansed

I said to thee

No, am not

Doubting myself

I cross checked all

but I’s clean

Was I or was I trying to…….

I’d see her head

Moving in disbelief

& there I’s

full of belief.

Old is gold

so are old wounds

No matter they heal

but stink forever

They do, yes! They do

But isn’t it human

It is,

but not in my case.

My first

I've never ever written a poem. But this time it seems my anguish wanted to say sumthing beyond straight words. And dat's y I wrote a few lines. It seems as if I've transferred all ma unhappiness in it.

Written on 10-08-07, Place-My room, Time-11 pm

A time trying

a night sighing

The never fading stars

with the visible mars

Emotions at par

withheld in heart

Hold on! Lest they come out

a volcano ready to blow out

Mind so full

with ideas so dull

No one to console

a poor wretched soul

A yellowed leaf

on a red fruity tree

Can’t blame thee

coz the culprit was me

Still dawn comes

& tells the sad ones

To impart happiness

the ultimate gudness

I question thee

why only me

Thou answered thus

coz u r the God’s best.

Blogging or Copying?????

Its been long since I posted ma last blog.I don’t know,I mean I’ve tried so many times but once u loose the feel of the subject then u just can’t get it back.Believe me its damn tough trying to get ideas, emotions & other things for the same subject again.Lets say u’ve a subject in mind or sumthing very personal & u r all geared up for writing a v. intense blog but voila! Ur mother told u 2 listen to her about a v. serious issue.Despite ur various excuses(lame for her) u’ve to listen 2 her & afterdat u find ur mind blank. No matter u try hard but the result’ll gonna be ‘sifar’.For me blogging is like unwinding after a trying & tiring time, most of the time am emotionally tired & so much so dat ma mind feel like bursting off.& dats wat I try 2 do here just let ma mind flow freely like a stream of river who doesn’t seem to’ve any inhibition in making her own path. Its a medium dat signifies ur individuality & allow it to grow up.Unlike other mediums it’s devoid of competition coz here u r revealing ur true self & sumtimes analyzing it too.U tll ur bitter\sweet experience to no one but to urself. So dat in course of time if u wanna look back at things these small hints can come handy.Actually it gives u sumthing dat a painting gives a painter,a novel gives a writer,a new tune gives its composer—PEACE OF MIND.U’ll laugh but its true after u’ve blurted out everything in the form of words wat remains with u is silence,an unspoken silence which is ready to take the world’s harshness. The first comment I got was dat am too abrupt.I tried 2 find the reason which’s like this:When I write ideas flow like water & it becomes difficult for me to judge & write also I hate 2 explain things,I think dat the reader’ll get bored easily coz I do.Waise bhi am writing for ma sake & if I can understand well then wat 2 do with the pace?Anyways thankz & in future I’ll try to expand things like a rubber band i.e. coming back to my usual self again after 1 or 2 posts.I don't know y but I've this strange habit of mixing my own experience with the piece

Blog started in 1998,I guess yeah! So  basically blog means having ur own space, writing whatever u feel like be it ur ideas.emotions, trips, opinion I mean its all about urself.U write ur feelings without the fear of getting judged or being slotted as right or wrong. BLOG-I knew this term b4 but never tried it out till I got a computer at home. I’ve always written about my feelings especially when am sad or lonely. Remember the song –Am Mr. Lonely I’ve no buddies-----!

Yeah! Dats wat am.I simply luv this medium of letting urself be the way u r without any fear. Its like having a holiday in Bahamas after a tiring stint in office.I remember reading a blog where a father wrote of his happiness of being a father.I’s so touched by dat blog dat it really made ma eyes wet.I mean with so simple words he described his state of mind right from being ecstatic to being a truly emotional father.

I think after photographs & videos this is the strongest medium of reviving ur memories. But 2days bloggers’ve lost the soft & personal touch to their writings. The only thing they want are comments & charming others by their ‘recently got updated’ knowledge.& most of them copy\paste their writings which is weird,I mean if u really want to share sumthing worldwide then build ur own website or should I say news site. There r things which u wanna share with others.Alright then TYPE THEM.And mention the name of the author or person who wrote the original piece & believe me ur pride won’t be hurt nor ur fingers, infact u’ll imbibe sumthing in urself of those things.I’ve seen so many posts till now & many of them which were long & dealt with different issues at 1 go,seemed to me nothing more dan the wonder of CONTROL ‘C’.Its a pity dat people can’t originate ideas & always tend to behave like copycats. I’ve no grudges against the bloggers infact I respect bloggers who write on their own & read their their blogs regularly. Its ur mind, please use it coz only by this u can get satisfaction else only fake praises’ll come in ur way. This matter’s disturbing me from very long & I knew I’d to take this up. Its my humble request to all u bloggers around to be original & even if u want to mention or quote sumthing then please don’t refute the copyright act.

Adult Schooling -2

It's in October 2006 when the Govt. decided 2 induce the concept of sex education in school.Though the plan's been executed in sum schools but still is condemned by majority. When they say dat parents'd start teaching sex at the earliest age possible. When asked for the instructions for parents they simply said," Whenever ur child comes from school or any hobby class or from a friend's house ask them dat whether their private parts been touched by any1,whether sum1 tried to take them in shady or cosy corner."   I ask u people 'Can u ask such questions from ur children? Is it possible to ask?

  • As far as imparting certain mandatory things to small children is concerned like wat is a gud touch & bad touch, its fine & there's no need to shout from rooftops to teach this coz every parent,I repeat Every parent does tell his/her children this much.
  • Do u really see a need to introduce certain things like dat, then introduce them in the syllabus.Vaise bhi whatever info is neccesary for a child at certain age is given in the biology textbooks. All about AIDS,be it causes,effects,prevention-everything is discussed in detail but in a way so as not to destroy a child's innocence.
  • When they say dat y shy away from discussing sex when everything is available on T.V. & Internet,I again beg their pardon coz despite of every info being available on TV & Net India's youth still have traditional morals & innocence intact & by innocence I don't mean being unaware but cautious.
  • Being mordern doesn't mean saying the word"Condom" aloud (a la Bindaas Bol) but it means to excel in every sphere of life,to learn every possible new technique dat is being used so as to reduce manpower &  to make ur country proud by excelling in technology etc. thereby keeping ur traditional morals & values in place.
  • On TV I got to watch the video tape of sex education session being held in Modern School. There the teachers were being shameless as well as the students(who felt v. confident & knowledgable after the session though). The questions dat the students asked r not worth mentioning.I mean the questions which should have been like about the various stages of STD's or AIDS or the steps dat ought to be taken while nursing the patients.Rather their questions were on the cautions to be taken while having sex.Believe it or not?Our generation'll be spoilt after these sessions.
  • Do Comment & raise ur voice against this.

Adult Schooling

The topic of introducing sex  education in schools is really creating waves among the the teachers as well as the parents but those who r  really excited about the whole thing are our new age students, infact their minds r already full of queries which'll put the instructor to shame.A few days back I watched a debate going over  the v. same topic with all its benefits & demerits (read benefits 4 students & demerits 4 parents). It's quite a watch & I's dying 2 participate but had 2 console maself by drinking every word of it. It started with the so called "module'" of sex education dat's been issued, one of ma friend also gave a full fledged description in one of his blog. The module consists of 2 figures one of male body & other of female body. Now should  we ask them dat wat's the need to draw these sort of diagrames when our science books contain these pictures or basically the  picture containing  body parts in the class VI itself? A parent described the module as pornographic, though it's a pretty strong word to use but  to stress his point ;he's right.Introducing sex education in school is like providing catalyst to an already burning flame.Till now school was the only place(in India) where hanky pankys didn't used to take place(b4 the DPS ,R.K.Puram incident).Wat the govt. has done is just made a panel of sum members who r adamant to modernise our society(by stepping on our tradition, customs) & came up with this module which is full of adult knowledge.----------The next Q arises is the age of a child. In 2day's world where sum pschyo men r raping even 3-4 yr. gals should we start teaching the concept of condoms in these classes 2.NO na.Then? I remember when I's in class VI we used 2 have these seminars(gals only) where all the things about gals related with puberty were discussed & I also remember how much the boys used 2 be restless.Thsy wanted to know wat's happening no matter how.Lets come to class VIth students aged 11----12 yrs. At this level every1 knows wat a gud & bad touch is all about. So wat we need 2 know is the motto behind the idea of introducing sex education in schools. On a bigger level its all about the HIV awareness & STD's but the solution for dat doesn't lies in condoms.I mean come on! in a way we r telling the students to use condoms instead of telling them to abstain from sex at such a tender age.On a remote level its about developing a comfort level among the boys & gals & stay away from things like these in their making years.

A lot need to be said than done.REALLY! Coz first we got to plan then execute.Share ur views which encourage me to write more.

Gals! This is for u.

U must be wondering about ma speed of blogging but guys its not dat slow but yeah our connection seems to be quite slow, the broadband one.Its been two time dat the moment I finished ma Oh so long! post & gave the command to post & Voila! wat I got was a "action cancelled" signal & ma whole post went to MTNL wallahas.Though in a way I thank God coz nobody'd have bothered to read such a long post.Today am in a feminine mood,Hey! I can see all the guys drifting away but dats not exactly true.Infact today I'll be speaking on ur behalf.Feeling better?Alright then-----------So to all those gals out there married, unmarried,or soon to be bride Here is a piece of advise from me----basically it deals with the daily behavioural changes when a women finds a man.

1)The moment u find a man u feel like clinging to him forever.U wanna do all the things "together-together" though initially this sounds & proves both cute & cozy but as the time passes especially the man finds excuses to keep distance or not coming anymore for ur shopping & all.Am really surprised y women don't feel like dat too?Dats where they say dat the space should be there in a relationship.Lets say u've started out in a relationship firstly be happy but not overdo it in front of him.Don't behave like a dumbo by always asking for icecreams, teddies, shopping, expensive gifts & & not to mention his hand.I mean to day don't thiese things regularly.Keep distance abit.-----------Don't expect him to call or message you in every 15 min. Even if want just supress urself a bit. He's something urgent  or say sum office work then,& with this emerges the Question of work being important or u?

Sorry guys(meaning--both gals & guys) I've to rush but I promise to u to complete the post in installments coz I won't be able to take 1 more "action cancelled attack).Do write comments lest I'll change topic from next time getting dat the post's bad.

Privacy

Privacy----A word dat ensures u,giving u a world made only by u & with dat it gives u the access 2 dat world. On a mundane plane if we analyse privacy then the components dat we'll get will be dat of -cell phones, bank accounts, wallet, passwords to various electronic devices,& lastly privacy of a couple. But wat actually privacy is???????
Privacy literally means a place of seclusion, solitude, retreat. Now done with the dictionary meaning.Lets apply it in our real life.Above mentioned things r violated by other persons, but sumtimes we let others 2 violate them or say we ourselves tell them about our private things.I guess 2 make it more simple we need 2 classify privacy (a la classification of plants).
-----There r certain things which we wanna keep 2 ourselves no matter wat,in this catagory all the electronic devices can be included besides ur personal things.Violation of these rings the bell & u take action against them immediately.
-----Violation of ur world dat's been made by u, for u, it's kinda ur reflection. There r sum people who want 2 enter in this world but denied entry. This is the time when u want 2 be urself in luv with.
So, basically privacy can be defined better with refernce to its violation.
We've heard people often say "Its private!" & then they move 2 sum secluded area to talk about the private thing. So, wat left wasn't private but a secret b/w two people.
So, is it the secret which's private or the private thing which turned into a secret remains a question.Same thing goes with the word "personal" the word itself reflects its being attached to the person, then y share it with sum1 else. So, the next time u say private or personal think for a sec. b4 hand.
Ending with the words thing, lets now come 2 the inner privacy of a person.
Its more 2 do with thoughts. There r times when u wanna analyse over sumthing & 2 do dat u detach urself from the world.Wat they say "I need sum space" in a relationship is true 2 the roots.Space meaning the freedom 2 think, to express urself,to do wat u feel like. Now a new word has entered "freedom".Freedom means in simple words doing wat u want though it's its limitations too.Lets not forget privacy now.
Marriage takes a toll on individual privac of a person.& this happens with both the sexes though a bit more with the fairer sex.Specially women tends to sacrifice their wishes, their dreams,theirhabits,hobbies-everything.Ask a couple dat whether their bank accounts & its details r known 2 each others,or password to their computers & Voila! The answer would be in affirmative.Though 2day's younsters r catching on to not revealing their personal things to an extent & dats gud.I mean wat's the need to check on ur spouse's cell memory or net history.Anyways u can't end this topic but surely the solution lies in basic things like be alarmed & attentive & never sacrifice ur individuality for anyone.U R UR OWN GUARD.
